Eficacia comparativa entre antidepresivos y psicoterapia

El presente estudio es una revisión sistemática y metaanalítica que pretende conocer la eficacia comparativa del tratamiento farmacológico y la psicoterapia en el trastorno depresivo mayor, empleando la metodología propia de la medicina basada en evidencia. Se recurrieron a estrategias bibliométricas y estadísticas robustas para consolidar la información. Se consideraron un total de 1000 artículos comprendidos de 1916-2022, de los cuales, en los cinco últimos años (2018–2022) fueron 20, con alto impacto e índice “h” relevante. Se encontró que el 59 % de artículos respaldaban la terapia combinada, y 41 % apostaban equilibradamente por considerar a la farmacoterapia más eficiente que la psicoterapia de corte cognitivo conductual. Ningún estudio concluyó que el uso de antidepresivos es más efectivo integralmente que la psicoterapia. Se concluye que la terapia farmacológica presenta mayor eficacia que la psicoterapia, pero si se combinan ambas en diferentes esquemas la eficacia alcanzada es mucho mayor siempre y cuando sea la terapia cognitivo conductual la utilizada.
