Modelo predictivo para explicar el sentido de vida y sus implicancias en la salud mental

Introducción: no solo se puede mejorar la salud mental cuando reparan los síntomas de la enfermedad, sino que existen otras alternativas que tienen un enfoque preventivo.
Objetivo: proponer un modelo predictivo para explicar el sentido de vida y sus implicancias en la salud mental basado en la espiritualidad y la gratitud
Métodos: se realizó un estudio empírico de estrategia asociativa con diseño predictivo; se aplicó una encuesta transversal a 205 personas seleccionadas mediante un muestreo probabilístico estratificado.
Resultados: no se reportan diferencias significativas de la inteligencia espiritual, gratitud y sentido de vida en función al sexo (Sig. > 0.05); no obstante, existen diferencias en cuanto a la religión; en la que los evangélicos son quienes desarrollan mejores características respecto a estas variables (sig. < 0.05). El modelo de regresión lineal indicó que la espiritualidad y gratitud explican en un 43 % al sentido de vida (Sig. 0.001). El análisis de mediación indica que la gratitud tiene una mediación parcial entre la relación de la inteligencia espiritual y el sentido de vida.
Conclusiones: se discuten las implicancias prácticas en la promoción y prevención de la salud mental, no solo al mejorar los síntomas, sino con la incorporación de la espiritualidad, gratitud y sentido de vida como aspectos transversales dentro del funcionamiento psicológico.
