Illness Anxiety Disorder in the context of epidemics: a growing clinical challenge
Abstract
En el escenario de las epidemias, existe incertidumbre y la sobreexposición a información médica, lo que constituye un caldo de cultivo para la exacerbación del Trastorno de Ansiedad por Enfermedad (TAE), antes llamado hipocondriasis. Cuadro clasificado en el DSM-5, pero que, representa un desafío diagnóstico y de manejo para los clínicos, ya que la convicción genuina del paciente sobre su enfermedad dificulta diferenciar la preocupación patológica de una posible infección real.
