Megacisterna magna en el trastorno ansioso depresivo

Resumen

Introducción: La megacisterna magna (MCM) es una malformación congénita que afecta las funciones cognitivas y causa trastornos psiquiátricos, como la depresión y los trastornos de ansiedad.

Objetivo : Describir un caso de MCM asociada con trastorno ansioso-depresivo.

Presentación del caso: Paciente con trastorno ansioso-depresivo asociado a MCM. De forma progresiva, el paciente comenzó a presentar signos de ansiedad y depresión, con una fobia irracional hacia su condición y hacia cualquier atención médica. Además, experimentó insomnio y expresó un miedo constante por su vida. Una tomografía computarizada (TC) reveló prominencia de la megacisterna magna, medida entre el vermis cerebeloso y la cara interna del hueso occipital, con un diámetro aproximado de 15 mm. El vermis y los hemisferios cerebelosos se observaban normales, sin dilatación en la fosa craneal posterior. Este es el primer caso documentado que establece esta relación.

Conclusión: La coexistencia de un trastorno ansioso-depresivo u otra condición psiquiátrica con una lesión cerebelosa congénita puede ser un hallazgo incidental o estar relacionada con una anomalía subyacente del neurodesarrollo.
