Burnout y su impacto en la ideación suicida en la formación médica

Introducción: el síndrome de burnout es una condición caracterizada por agotamiento emocional, despersonalización y falta de realización personal, común entre estudiantes y profesionales de la salud debido a las altas demandas académicas y laborales. La ideación suicida, un problema de salud pública global, se asocia con múltiples factores de riesgo, incluido el burnout.
Objetivo: analizar la relación entre las dimensiones del burnout y la ideación suicida, enfocándose en estudiantes de medicina humana y en profesionales de la salud en proceso de formación. Metodología: se realizó una revisión bibliográfica de la literatura en las bases de datos PubMed y Google Scholar de publicaciones entre 2019 y 2024. Los artículos fueron seleccionados según criterios de inclusión y exclusión predefinidos.
Resultados: de los 51 artículos encontrados en la revisión, 31 cumplían con los criterios inclusión y exclusión, 20 artículos fueron excluidos por no guardar correlación, y se obtuvieron 11 artículos para trabajar la revisión sistemática.
Conclusiones: existe una relación significativa entre las dimensiones del síndrome de burnout y la ideación suicida, con el agotamiento emocional como el factor más crítico en estudiantes de medicina y profesionales de la salud en formación, especialmente durante la pandemia de COVID-19.
